Outdoor water bottles for hiking: stainless steel & glass

We recommend insulated stainless steel water bottles for hiking: they are robust and keep drinks cold for up to 24 hours or hot drinks warm for 6–12 hours. Glass suits picnics and shorter walks when you can protect it from bumps. Both materials are BPA-free. A reusable bottle you enjoy carrying makes it easier to stay hydrated on the go and reduce your use of disposable plastic bottles.

A 1L bottle offers a useful balance of capacity and carrying comfort for work, walks and day trips. Choose 500 ml or 750 ml for a smaller bottle, or 1.5L and 2L for more water between refills. Match your bottle size to the weather, your hydration needs and access to reliable drinking water sources along your route.

Yes. spottle bottles are designed to be leakproof when the lid is fully closed and the silicone seal is correctly in place. Most spottle glass and stainless steel bottles come with a practical screw lid. The 2L glass bottle uses a different push-button lid with an integrated straw for convenient drinking. A new spottle sports lid will also be available soon, offering an additional straw drinking option for compatible spottle bottles.

A wide mouth makes it easier to add ice cubes, fruit or fresh mint and reach inside with a bottle brush. Our 1.5L and 2L glass models have generous openings. These water bottle features are useful if you enjoy flavoured water or want to add ice before an outdoor adventure.

Yes. spottle stainless steel bottles and the 500 ml, 750 ml and 1L glass models are suitable for carbonated drinks. Open the lid slowly to release pressure. We do not recommend sparkling water in the larger 1.5L and 2L glass bottles.

The bottles are dishwasher safe without their lids. You can also wash your water bottle with warm water, washing-up liquid and a bottle brush. Clean the lid and silicone seal by hand, rinse thoroughly and let all parts dry before putting them back together.
